Utiliza o possessive adjective quando observa o subject pronoun, como por exemplo:

I am a dentist. My name is Paul. Como o pronome é I o possessive adjective é My.

She is a Brazilian singer. Her name is Ivete Sangalo. Como o pronome é She o possessive adjective é Her.

He is a famous singer. His name is Justin Bieber. Como o pronome é He o possessive adjective é His.

They are doctors. Their names are Saulo and Beatriz. Como o pronome é They o possessive adjective é Their.

It is a dog. Its name is Tom. Como o pronome é It o possessive adjetive é Its.

Na forma interrogativa sempre o verbo to be inicia a frase e na forma negativa coloca o NOT que vem depois do verbo to be, como por exemplo:

She is a teacher.

Interrogativa: Is she a teacher?

Negativa: She is not a teacher;

They are sisters.

Interrogativa: Are they sisters?

Negativa: They are not sisters

It is a cat.

Interrogativa: Is it a cat?

Negativa: It is not a cat.

You are my friend.

Interrogativa: Are you my friend?

Negativa: You are not my friend.
